This International Standard defines the different types of inspection documents supplied to the purchaser, in accordance with the requirements of the order, for the delivery of metallic products.

This International Standard is to be used in conjunction with other International Standards which specify the general technical delivery conditions:

—    for steel and steel products, see ISO 404;

—    for steel castings, see ISO 4990.

NOTE          This International Standard may also apply to non-metallic products. If this standard is applied to products other than steel, ISO 404 can be used, if applicable.

This International Standard applies to dimensional and shape tolerances for all hot-rolled steel sheet products.

Note             Hot-rolled steel strip and hot-rolled heavy thickness steel sheet coils are not covered by this International Standard.

This part 2 of ISO 12110 presents cycle counting techniques and data reduction methods which are used in variable amplitude fatigue testing.

For each test or test series, cycle counting is mandatory whereas data reduction methods are optional.

The present part 2 supports the part 1 which contains the general principles and describes the common requirements about variable amplitude fatigue testing.

In this part, the term "loading" refers either to force, stress or strain since the methods presented in this document are valid for all.

The following issues are not within the scope of this part 2 and therefore will not be addressed:

        Constant amplitude tests with isolated overloads or underloads.

       Large components or structures.

       Environmental effects like corrosion, creep, …linked to temperature/time interactions leading to frequency and waveform effects.

       Multiaxial loading.

NOTE 1       Phasing is of prime importance when dealing with multiaxial tests under either constant or variable amplitude controlled loading.

NOTE 2       Although frequency variations during cycling are not outside of the scope of this standard, the following clauses deal only with constant frequency cycling.

This European Standard defines the steel grades of grain-oriented electrical strip and sheet in nominal thicknesses of 0,23 mm, 0,27 mm, 0,30 mm and 0,35 mm and specifies in particular, general requirements, magnetic properties, geometric characteristics and tolerances and technological characteristics, as well as inspection procedures.

This European Standard applies to Goss textured grain-oriented electrical sheet and strip supplied in the final annealed condition in sheets or coils, and intended for the construction of magnetic circuits.

The materials are grouped into two classes :

a)     conventional grain oriented material ;

b)    high permeability grain oriented material .

They correspond to Clause C.22 of IEC 60404-1:2000.

This International Standard defines terms for steel products according to their:

a)     stage of manufacture;

b)    shape and dimensions;

c)     appearance.

NOTE 1       Although the products are generally defined independently of their end uses or manufacturing processes, it has sometimes been necessary to make reference to these criteria.

NOTE 2       All dimensions given in this International Standard are nominal.

This International Standard applies to hot-rolled carbon steel sheet of commercial and drawing qualities. Hot-rolled steel sheet is suitable for many applications where the presence of oxide or scale, or normal

surface imperfections disclosed after removal of oxide or scale, are not objectionable. It is not suitable for

applications where the surface is of prime importance.

NOTE         This International Standard does not cover steel sheet that is to be subjected to subsequent rerolling.
