Thank you for using the BSI Draft Review web application site. We do not supply your information to third parties for marketing purposes unless the document in question has been developed with partner organizations. If a document has been developed with partner organizations, this will be stated on the document record within the Document Feedback system along with who those partners are. We are committed to ensure we handle all personal information in compliance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and the EU Communications Directive 2002.  Any information you submit online would be directly used to benefit you with information about our products and services that may be of interest to you via email.

 

BSI Group Privacy Policy

BSI (British Standards Institution, the principal business address in the United Kingdom is 389 Chiswick High Road, London, W4 4AL). BSI is a company incorporated in the United Kingdom by Royal Charter) is committed to protecting your privacy online.

However, if you would like to comment on any document published on the Draft Review website, we do require you to supply your name and email address to register.  These details will remain anonymous and will not be exposed to anyone except BSI and the relevant committees within the Document Feedback system.

What information do we collect?

We collect the contact details of anybody viewing or commenting on our draft standards including name and email address.  This information may be used to notify you when your comments are moderated, we may contact you to clarify your comments and for BSI British Standards to keep you informed on relevant products and services. If you would prefer not to receive these communications, please email us at customer.services@bsigroup.com

We also collect information about our users for the purpose of marketing BSI products for statistical information. This is collected by the use of cookies; these are small pieces of information that are stored by your browser on your hard drive. This information does not identify you personally, it just allows us to track and identify registered users automatically when they are logged in. You can opt to change your computer settings to reject cookies; however, this could limit your access to certain features on the site.

The BSI DRS website automatically logs visitor information from which summary statistics are created. We use the summary statistics to help us make our site more useful to visitors, such as assessing what information is of most interest to visitors, as well as for other purposes such as determining the site’s technical design specifications and identifying system performance or problem areas.

The following are representative of the types of information automatically collected and stored from your visit:

  • the internet domain and Internet Protocol (IP) address from which you access our website;
  • the type of internet browser and the operating system of the computer you use to access our website;
  • the date and time of your visit;
  • the pages you visit on our website;
  • if you linked to our website from another one, the address of the other website;
  • if you linked to our website from a search engine , the URL and the search term you used.

The information above is gathered automatically for two purposes:

1.     site management; and;

2.     in the case of suspected unauthorized activity, for law enforcement and possible criminal prosecution (see Your Use of the BSI Website in our Terms and Conditions).

Shared Information with other BSI Businesses

Any information that you may provide to the BSI British Standards division of BSI will not be shared with other BSI businesses within the BSI Group.

We will not pass any information to any party outside the BSI Group, although we reserve the right to pass your details to law enforcement agencies if required to do so by applicable law.

If the ownership of BSI is changed, or the assets of BSI are sold we reserve the right to pass your details to the new purchaser, subject to notifying you of this as soon as is reasonably possible in the case of an asset sale.

Changes to our Privacy Policy

Any changes to our privacy policy will be posted here although we may choose to email you directly or direct you to an updated policy when you visit our site if the changes are significant.
